    Armor #3
    by Philip Duplessis

His eyes poured out of their sockets, and he felt fire coat his body. He screamed more than he ever thought possible as the pain took his body, and twisted it. The two rings he wore burned bright and smoke rose from his flesh. Then the light came back, and he was introduced into a new world of pain as it hit his newborn eyes. The light faded slowly and he came to the realization that a man was standing in front of him. He could make out the features of the man, whose skin was as ebony as the darkness he just left, and had only white hair and white eyes to contrast the black.

The man before him smiled, revealing his white teeth, and he spoke, "You will do."

The man disappeared from sight, leaving him standing alone in an abandoned barroom. He looked around, finding it dusty and dark. Somehow he could see the murky shapes of the stools and the tables. He smiled and sat down on one of the bar stools nearest him.
