Rambling: How To Mock A Fanboy
by Jason Kenney
Front page of the January 20th Wall Street Journal:
"Fans Howl in Protest as Judge Decides X-Men Aren't Human"
My initial reaction is "this is news?" And, to a certain extent it is. I mean, it's an article about the finances of Marvel and it's Toy Biz subsidiary and how they were in court to get back taxes on action figures. At one time the Customs considered the toys 'dolls' and taxed them at the 12% instead of the 6.8% for toys (a tax which is no longer in effect).
A quick thought on this is, hey, if you freakin' made these things in America instead of having some kid do it in a third world country or China, you wouldn't have to worry about Customs.
But that's not the point.
