Dancing, Long After the Music's Stopped... By DarkMark http://www.livejournal.com/users/darkmark/96272.html
Well. Has fanfiction as we have known it burned out, flamed out, gone to glory, or just...kind of rolled over and gone to sleep?
I don't know, and I suppose it's all subjective. But, still, it ain't the same as it was only a few years ago, or so it seems to me.
I started writing this stuff circa 1997, before I even knew that fanfic existed. Before long, somebody I showed my stories to offered to put them up on his site. We got an audience. Kielle contacted us and let us know that we'd been added to CFAN, which was a hub for writers of fanfiction. I put out some feelers to her. She liked my stuff, and a friendly acquaintance began, during which my stories were featured a few times in CFAN's Feature Fanfic spot.
But now there is no CFAN.
